Study links parental relationship with late child support

A study has shown a relationship between late child support and the time non-custodial fathers spend with their children. According to the study, fathers who are late on their child support on average spend less time with their children than those who pay on time. As many Berks County families have experienced, many fathers do not live with their children and most have to pay child support to the custodial parents.

Obama's child support regulation still in place

Noncustodial parents in Pennsylvania that cannot afford to make their child support payments on time can face a number of different enforcement measures. One that is used is incarceration. However, parents who are incarcerated may continue to accrue child support debt while they are locked up, and they may be unable to settle their balance when they get out.

Options for dividing a house in divorce

There are several pitfalls that Pennsylvania homeowners who are getting a divorce should avoid. One of those is that if one person plans to remain in the home, that individual should keep in mind that it might present both financial and emotional challenges. People should make sure they will not be bothered by painful memories while in the home and also that they can afford to live there on one income.
